Dingle is home to Fungi the Dolphin. Fungi can be seen by boat or you can swim with him from the shore.
Fungi is Dingle's most famous resident. He is a solitary bottlenose dolphin who made Dingle his home in 1987. He is the star of many documentaries, films and advertisements but the thrill of his residency in Dingle Bay is the fact that he really is totally wild.
We often have people staying at Ballintaggart House who have come to Dingle to swim with the dolphin. . We are only a short walk away from the swimming beach where people go in with their wetsuits to swim with the dolphin. If you just want to watch the dolphin in his natural habitat then this is a good lookout spot and you can also enjoy a picturesque walk along the cliffs of the bay. Alternatively you can catch our shuttle bus into Dingle and take one of the boats that run regular trips out into the bay to see the dolphin.

Fungi is a wild animal and therefore there are no guarantees as to when and where he might swim with you. Part of the joy is the unpredictability of his behaviour. It is worth bearing in mind, though, that in over 10 years he has never left our shores and can always be seen somewhere in or around Dingle Bay.
